The Hawk's Eye Newsletter

The Hawk’s Eye Newsletter is a fantastic opportunity for students to work together in honing their writing, media, and multimedia skills. The Hawk’s Eye Newsletter is published every two weeks and distributed amongst the school community. Every newsletter contains information and updates about happenings in our school, local, and global communities. Along with our publication, a bi-weekly video is uploaded to LVCP’s YouTube channel containing interviews and images from the content within our paper. Each Newsletter member will have an opportunity to practice journalism, editing, layout design, videography, photography, video editing, and fund-raising.

Each Hawk’s Eye will contain: (But is not limited to)

• News/Features
• Sports
• Editorials
• Outstanding Projects
• Reviews
• Polls
• Submitted Student Work (Poems, Comic Strips, Etc.)
• Photos
• Video Links

Newsletter will be meeting twice a week. Therefore, over the course of two weeks the meeting breakdown would look like this:

Meeting #1: Story Board/Topic Selection/Assignments
Meeting #2: Newsroom Workspace
Meeting #3: Cutting Room Floor/Editing
Meeting #4: Final Edits/Print/Publish Day
