Justin Guerra

Mr. Guerra studied in Oxford and graduated from the University of San Diego with a dual degree in English Literature and Education in 2004.  Following school he opened his own surf shop in San Diego! 

Yearning to get back to his first love, working with kids through exploring literature and writing, Mr. Guerra took a teaching position at High Tech High School in San Diego, CA.  He returned to the Bay Area after ten years to teach at LVCP.  Having been a part of the community that accomplished LVCP’s inaugural year is his proudest accomplishment to date. 

Mr. Guerra continues to further his own education and is working on his MFA in Creative Writing. 

In his own classroom, Mr. Guerra loves to employ real world experiences to create a class environment and culture where his students can make tangible and meaningful connections from the past to the present and the future.  When he's not in the classroom you can catch Mr. Guerra with his wife, surfing, reading on the beach, at local art shows, writing, sketching, traveling, and exploring new places and cultures.
